I recently came across a clearly cute DIY project at Make It & Love It, which I later made and loved. Stuffed Fabric Turtles! Check out that link if you’re interested in making one for yourself. Theirs are much cuter than mine, being that this is the first stuffed anything (besides a quilt) that I’ve made. I just used some old scraps of fabric that I had leftover from Mia’s Halloween Owl costume that I had made. I didn’t put much thought into the fabric or colors, I just wanted to try this pattern out first. It’s not perfect and there are areas that I’ll improve on with the next turtle I make, but still, I so love my hand sewn, stuffed turtle for Mia.
I wouldn’t say that this project is difficult, but it does take patience and a lot of time. I do think that these will make for some pretty adorable, future baby shower gifts, right? What do ya’ll think? I think that this turtle will forever hold a special place in my heart since it’s the first toy I’ve made for my daughter. I hope she loves the stitches out of it.
