32 Weeks Pregnant {Large Jicama}

*High five* Mia and I whizzed right through our 32nd week.  (Oops, on being a few days late on posting this)

(Average measurements: 16.7 inches, 3.75 pounds)

Pay no attention to my cheesey squeezy smile :)

Can I put "personal photographer" on my baby registry? I could use one.

*I know, 2 belly lump photos in one post?!  Your. Lucky. Day.*

House update:  Whoooooooohooooooooooo yeeeaaaaahhhh baby!!!  It’s a done deal, ya’ll.  We received the much awaited, very anticipated email from the landlord giving us the green light on moving into his house!  I can finally be excited, thrilled, relieved, overjoyed over this news that basically, all of our hopes had been riding on.  We’ll be moving in next month on the 15th (or possibly earlier).  Also, we’ll finally be taking a look at the interior for the first time soon, so stay tuned for the  “33 Weeks Pregnant” post for that excitement.  Mia, love, we finally did it!  We’ve snatched up a house for you to come home to.  A good one.  It’s all for you, my darling. xo

  • We checked out a thrift store in Sunland and totally scored this amazing steal!  Get ready to be impressed……….$10!!!  I’ve priced similar cradles elsewhere for around $100.  We plan to repaint this bad boy and put in a better mattress pad.

Thrift store bargain!

  • Food joint recommendation, coming your way…Hook Burger in Burbank.  It’s in the Burbank Empire Center, at least I think that’s what it’s called.  It’s cheap and REALLY good.  Burgers, sandwiches, salads, fries, onion rings, etc.  We had a burger and a BBQ chicken sandwich, both awesome.  Oh, and a DELICIOUS chocolate shake with whipped cream on top.  Check it out if you’re in that neighborhood

  • We had our 2nd Lamaze class.  We still love it.  So informative.  And, I saw another birth on a video we watched.  Why am I seeing this NOW?  You’re supposed to scare people out of making decisions before they make them, right???  Oh man, so bloody and just…gnarly (you can thank me now for NOT putting up a picture to go with this, btw).  This video made sure not to leave out the birthing of the placenta.  That was a first for me.  I had no idea what that thing looked like.  How did they know that I had always wanted to see one being pushed out of a worn and wearied woman?  “Labor” is a pretty tame word to describe what I had just seen that poor woman do.
  • Grandma C sent baby Mia another gift in the mail!  Now this loved little baby has her first teddy bear and a few bedtime gowns.  Adorable.  I don’t see this teddy staying white for too long, though.  I’m sure that because it’s from Grandma, Mia will take it with her everywhere she goes, dragging it around from infant to toddler.  Thanks, Grandma :)

Goodies from Grandma C!

  •  I’ve noticed that I have become more out of breath (and crabby).  Both Thursday and Friday of last week, I had been at work for no more than an hour and just sitting at my desk, finding it hard to breathe.  I think a certain someone (I’m not gonna say who) is using my lungs as pillows…and even getting a little chubby ;)

My phone’s BabyBump app says, “Your baby is really plumping up and will gain almost half his body weight by the time you deliver.  This needed baby fat will help to keep your baby warm in the outside world.  The layer of soft lanugo hair is also starting to shed.  Over the next few weeks your baby’s real hair and skin will become soft and smooth.

As you approach your due date it’s normal to have anxiety.  Now is a good time to discuss your birth plan with your practitioner to help ease some of your concerns or questions.  Inside your body you’re likely to have more lower back pain as the growing weight of your uterus and belly pull your body forward and strains your back.”

  1. Where is this new house?!

  2. LOL, the videos are gross but don't worry, you won't even see any of that (unless you opt for the mirror??). Just make sure Dom doesn't look! He'll never be the same. ;)

    • I'm definitely NOT asking for the mirror. In fact, I think I'll demand that there be NO mirrors allowed in my room. And please convince Dominic not to look! I've tried many times to tell him what you just said, and I don't think he believes me. He's too dang curious…and stubborn.

  3. love it! Maddy is reading this with me and when it got to the picture of the baby in the tummy.. she asked me if when she was in my tummy and upside down did she get a headache.. lol love the things kids come up with.. not too long till you will have a whole list of your own! <3

    • Aww, that's too funny. Yeah, my students are already cracking me up with the most random comments and questions about my belly and the baby. I should be keeping a "quote book"…umm, idea! :)
