“A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2014. My goal for the year: highlight her most recently acquired and/or favorite skill, activity, or milestone, in hopes to document her blossoming personality and mind as well as her physical appearance. ” See my series HERE.
Mia: Mama’s big helper.
I’ll admit it, I’ve been impatiently waiting for the phase/age where Mia actually wants to help me wash the dishes. The more help that I can get around here the better, and I have no problem with putting my two year old to work. Sure, she’s mostly playing and pretending while watching how Mama washes but she’s taking notes and is stoked to have her hands in the sink with a sponge in one and a dish in the other. Dreams really do come true. She must get this cleaning trait from Grandma, they say these things skip generations. If that’s the case then I should pop out 4 more kids to milk this whole child labor thing for all it’s worth. #lightbulbmoment
This face below? She does that now, whenever I ask her to look at Mommy for a quick photo. She’s a stinker like that.
Okay now just for fun, this is the portrait from last year’s week 21 in 2013.
The following portraits are my favorite from last week‘s entries at Practising Simplicity’s linkup… (there’s a lot this week)
Picking Peonies // Down by the Appletree // Best of 2 Sisters // Fleurishing // The Adored Journal // Work House // Flight Platform Living
She’s so adorable. My daughter always wants to help with the washing but I always want to get it done quickly and never really make the time so we can do it together. You’ve inspired me to let her help me today. Which is perfect timing because I’ve got a pile to do!
Aw, cool Alex! You know, I don’t ALWAYS let her help me either. I have to be feeling quite patient and yes, have extra time on my hands to clean up the spillage of water on the floor and around the sink…and then on her! But, she loves it and I’m able to keep an eye on her while I’m doing the dishes AND she’s not repeating the words “mama, up!” until I hold her :) Thanks for the comment.
I love her little smerk from last year. So cute
Hahaha aww these are too cute! Don’t you just love this age of them wanting to help with everything? In 10 years you’ll be begging for help haha
That’s probably the exact thing that will happen, Tina. I plan to get the most labor out of her until I have to actually bribe or pay her :)
these are too adorable! her hair in the top photo is to die for
Aw, thanks Anne! That little bun is my new favorite hair-do. I appreciate the comment :)
hahaha.. wants to help with everything by the look of it, & the necessity for a dozen towels to clean up after they help! lol
Oh. my. goodness! That little bun on top of her head. I can hardly STAND THE CUTENESS! #whyiwantadaughter
haha, Dena. Thanks! That’s the first time I’ve put her hair in a bun AND the first documentation of it :) It’s my new favorite up-do. Been waiting for her hair to be long enough for it.
