A Portrait A Week: 23/52

Photo: With a chunk of dirt from our backyard in her hand, Mia gazes into the sky after hearing an airplane soar overhead. Every time she hears one, she stops what she’s doing and will just look up or will point up. I’m so used to them that I don’t really hear them anymore. Having her around makes me stop to pay attention to my surroundings a lot more than I used to. Every sound to her is worth figuring out.

“A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2013.”
