A Portrait A Week: 33/52

“A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2013.”

week 33

How simply sweet are moments like these that just ooze innocence and pureness? We were in San Diego and I was actually photographing a friend’s family and Mia was curiously watching and exploring nearby. Her favorite bunny gave her comfort while she stood in new surroundings and near new people. Bunny always helps her feel safe, secure and at home. I love how Mia smiles from ear to ear when I hand it to her. Bunny sleeps with her at every nap and during each night. She kisses Bunny when she wakes up and hands her to me to kiss, too, saying “Mmmmmmm-Aaah!” That’s her “kiss” sound. (Side note: Mia has been in the most loving, snuggly and cuddly phase this month and I wish upon all wishes that she stays that way for all of her life). Bunny is like another member of the family and I plan to keep her in our lives until Mia is well into adulthood. It may be slightly brown, tattered and torn by then but that’s what will make it so special. Maybe Mia will pass it down to her son or daughter some day. Wow, Mia may very well be a mom. Bigger wow, I may someday be a Grandma!!! Eeek…new thoughts, new thoughts!

Here are some of my favorite “portraits” from week 32 (last week):

I can’t help but to smile right back at this happy girl with curls. I think this is a perfect profile of more curls in the sun. These 4 boys, all together, are so handsome and make me want that big family I’ve always dreamed of (and want a boy).

You can find plenty more portraits from last week here…
