A Red Envelope Birthday {Review!}

Talk about perfect timing…

My husband’s birthday was a little over a week away when I received an opportunity from Red Envelope to review their site and one of their products of my choice. Can you guess which “occasion” I shopped in? Yup, “Birthday For Him,” where they have so conveniently “made it easier to find the perfect gift for the man in your life.”

They’ve got quite the collection of unique gifts for just about anyone (anniversary, baby & kids, wedding, Christmas, congratulations, sympathy and more). The site is very user friendly, it includes great photos of all the products, it’s well organized into categories/occasions, and it offers reviews from people who have purchased products from their site, which I always read and find extremely helpful.

It took me a while to make a final decision on Dominic’s gift, let me tell you. Some close runners up were a fancy pocket compass, a Juniper Bonsai and a leather cigar case. BUT, I decided to go with the….

  Mr. Beer Brewing Kit!

This guy couldn’t wait until his birthday to open the mystery box that came in the mail so he opened it up the night before turning the big 36.

So, there’s no link to the item I ordered because, well, searching the site again I’m finding that it’s no longer listed. Instead, they have a NEW and similar item, Craft Beer Home Brew Kit. I’ll be honest, I’m a little bummed that this kit wasn’t available when I made my selection. It looks like the items included are made with better quality material, like with glass rather than plastic. Rats! Oh well. Good for you guys, then.

From my understanding, it takes a few weeks before you can actually taste your homemade beer. There’s a bit of a process involved to get it started and some waiting around until it’s ready. I figured that for my husband, this wouldn’t be a problem. He loves to garden and grow his own fruits and vegetables (which takes time and patience!) and he loves beer. He’s mentioned recently, too, that he’s interested in trying to make his own beer one day so this gift seemed perfect.

I’ll update ya’ll with the results of our first brewed batch when it’s ready.

In the meantime, browse through their cool products and use them for all of your gift-giving needs. I don’t think I need to remind you that Christmas is just around the corner. Stores (like Lowe’s and Target) already have Christmas decor and trees up for sale. It’s OCTOBER!!!

*Note: Red Envelope provided me with the beer kit, free of charge. I was NOT compensated nor was I instructed on how to conduct this review. You’ve read my 100% honest opinions on the site and product along with my personal experience.
