Baby’s 1st Christmas! {Eve & Day}

Christmas Eve

‘Twas the day before Christmas,

And all through the house,

Was the smell of savory lasagna,

being made by my spouse!

Was that cheesy or what?! But it’s true, my husband made homemade lasagna for the first time on Christmas Eve. He made his newly famous pasta sauce the day before and spent hours in the afternoon on Christmas Eve finishing the dish in time for his dad, his sister and her husband to come over to our house and spend the evening with us over delicious Italian food.

These 2 photos were taken with a phone, I totally spaced on taking pictures of Mia’s adorable dress with my camera.

Uncle Stan is like the baby whisperer. She’s so calm and content with him. She looks like a ghost here, but it’s the best shot of her dress from the evening. Rats!

eve5  After dinner and wine, we opened gifts we brought for each other.

eve2 Mia’s very first Christmas gift she opened was from her Aunt and Uncle.

eve3 All Mia wanted for Christmas was her 2 front teeth. Be careful what you wish for!

eve6 The evening was really nice and we all enjoyed our family time together. Thanks Grandpa, Lisa and Stan for all of your help in the kitchen, for your gifts and most of all, your company.

Christmas Day

I should warn you, there are a lot of pictures to scroll through. This is our 1st Christmas as a family and one of my favorite holidays so as any new parent would be, I’m a little excited. I’ll try to keep the words to a minimum. Fair? Good.

Christmas morning was spent at Grandma and Grandpa’s house (my parents) along with Uncle Chris and Kristen. We had Grandpa’s famous eggs Benedict for breakfast, a Christmas morning tradition and favorite. We then dove into the presents.

Mia got the ball rolling.

Thank you everyone for such a special and generous Christmas this year. I speak for Dominic, Mia and myself when I say that we’re thankful for all you do and are grateful to have such amazing people as our family.

We went home for a little intermission. We tried giving Mia a nap, but she didn’t want to miss out on all the excitement.

xmas8We headed back to Grandma and Grandpa’s house for round 2, this time we were also joined by my Aunt. Grandpa put his pro chef skills to work again and we had what might have been our best Christmas dinner yet.

We ended the night with Mia showing the family that she can crawl up all of the stairs by herself. Does she purposely save this stuff for special occasions? Thanksgiving night was the first time she crawled. Christmas night, this…

She discovered something new upstairs…

She loves cups and tries to drink whatever is in any one she comes across. She must have thought she found the jackpot of all cups with this one.

We went home to open a few more presents that Grandma (Dominic’s mom) had sent us in the mail. Sorry, no pictures. Our brains were pretty much mush by this point. The gifts were very sweet, thank you Grandma C!

We hope you all had a memorable and special Christmas.

It’s the season for giving and in the spirit of giving, how ‘bout giving us your VOTE :)
