LIFE: 7 Months

Biggest blog fail to date. I’m 2 1/2 weeks late, getting this post up about my little “chubs” turning 7 months old. It’s not like ya’ll were thrown off by my missing monthly update, but it’s important to me to be on top of these milestones for future reference/reminiscing and to update distant relatives in the happenings of Mia’s life.  So here it is…

Mia, my darling…

I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll be saying it again, every month continues to wow me. Each month that passes, you grow, you learn, you overcome, you enter a new stage of life, you mellow out a little more, you continue to impress and amaze me and I can’t help but to fall in love with you further than I thought I could fall.

You began your 7th month of life weighing in at 17.4 lbs (85th percentile) and measuring in at 26 1/4 inches (80th percentile). The pediatrician said we could start introducing meats to you. We started you on “2nd Foods” baby food, the next level up after level one. Your favorite fruits are pears, mangoes, bananas, apples and strawberries. Your favorite veggies are sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans and squash. You were disgusted with chicken and turkey when they were introduced, and you still are. You will only eat meat if it’s mixed with other fruits and veggies.

Things around here are getting easier with you, bebe. You still are a feisty little thing, demanding your bottle every 3 hours (most times right on the dot), waking up twice now (usually) each night for a feeding, battling your sleepy self at nap times and screaming your head off (don’t worry, I twist it back on) with almost every change of clothes. You’re not too big on diaper changes either. The separation anxiety phase is a bit here and there and let me tell you, it’s real fun.

But I did say things are getting easier, and by that I mean you’re starting to enjoy lap time with Mommy and Daddy more. In the evenings before bed time, you will actually sit or lay back calmly on our laps or on the couch next to us while we watch TV (your shows, of course) to deactivate your mind before entering sleepy town. You’ve begun to nuzzle me in my arms and I absolutely melt. You smile and laugh all the time. It’s easy to get your giggles out. You can sit up all by yourself now. Occasionally you get a little over confident when reaching for things and you’ll tip over, but for the most part, your sitting abilities are pretty solid. Yay! You started standing up. The first time was in your crib. We quickly lowered your crib’s mattress and your play yard’s so you won’t topple out, which is what you tried doing a few times. You experienced your first Halloween (Mommy made you the coolest costume) and your first Thanksgiving this month. On the night of Thanksgiving, you crawled for the first time! It was only another day or 2 before you had the crawling thing down and you were pulling yourself up into the standing position (on the floor) every chance you got. You still do. You love being free, playing on the floor in the middle of our living room. You don’t last long at all in your play yard anymore. All you do is stand in it and peek over the side railing, begging to be taken out. It’s so desperately adorable. Your favorite show is still Bubble Guppies and now you have a favorite movie, Finding Nemo. We’ve watched it over a dozen times and honestly, I don’t mind. It’s one of my faves, too. You are my squishy.

Month 7 was definitely a busy month for you, little bee. You accomplished so much, so fast. You’ve pretty much left Daddy and me in your dust. We’re so proud of you and we love you more than you’ll ever know, more than I can ever express. I hope you can feel it. My million kisses alone should be enough proof that I’m sweet on you. Your cheeks were so made for smooches. Thank you, Mia, for blessing us with your lovely little being. We can’t wait to see what you have in store for us in month #8.

P.s. Before you go, how ‘bout you tip the blogger with a vote (once, daily)! We so appreciate your continued support.
