LIFE: Week 14 {another video!}

With each week comes more developments and more excitement happening under our roof.  Here’s this week’s recap:

  • I’ve been getting my craft on!  I’ve been painting, spray painting, sanding, drawing, taping and gluing.  In case you missed it, here’s a ridiculously simple project I completed this week.  I’ve got about 3 or 4 others that are still in the works.   Stay tuned for their big reveal.
  • I thought that when I heard my baby laugh for the first time (at 11 weeks & 2 days), I had heard the most beautiful sound in the world.  Little did I know, Mia would knock that little giggle out of the water (at 13 weeks & 2 days) with THIS incredible moment of LOLing!  If you missed the post on it, click here to share in our best moment together, yet!  It will make your day :)
  • I was supposed to go back to work again this week.  Let me tell you, I was dreading it.  Unexpectedly, however, I got had to stay home for one more week!  Financially, that’s not so great.  But one more week with my Mia bug is worth it. I savored each day.  Why didn’t I go to work?  Read the next bullet below.

  • Our roommate finally moved out!  {Insert happy dance here}.  We gave him notice to move out on the 1st of July and his “30 days” crossed over into the first few days of the week of which I was to go back to work.  Now because we don’t trust him to be left in the house alone, especially while in the process of moving out (coming and going), somebody had to stay home to keep an eye on things and that somebody was ME.  As of August 1st, we’re roommate free = stress free!  The awkwardness, negativity and tension went right out the door with him.  Now our space is our own, our privacy is our own, our family is our own.  I can’t even begin to describe to you how good this feels.  The downside: It’s crunch time!  We have to save every penny and I have to go back to work a whole month sooner than planned to make ends meet, now that we’re taking on the full rent amount.  The struggle is worth it, to me.  Wish us luck.
  • Mia rolled over from her back to her tummy for the first time about a week and a half ago.  Awesome,right?  We were excited for her accomplishment.  Well, pretty much all week long…she hasn’t stopped rolling.  Every time I lay her in her play yard, or on her play mat…she rolls over onto her tummy.  The problem is, she doesn’t know how to roll over onto her back again so she gets stuck.  She’ll struggle for a bit, lifting her head and trying as hard as she can to kick her legs (like she’s crawling), but that doesn’t last long.  Before you know it, she’s fussing and crying until I go help her onto her back again.  One minute later, the same scenario ensues.  It’s getting a little old and it’s keeping me from doing ANYTHING!  Figure out how to roll onto your back again already, baby!
  • Mia has full hand-to-mouth capabilities.  She’s always gnawing on her little fingers or trying to shove her whole fist in her mouth.  When she’s not doing that, she’s shoving whatever toy I’ve given her into her mouth.  It’s like for the past 3 months, she’s been dying to find out what everything tastes like.  Everything LOOKS so darn good, they must taste good, too!

  • Mia has been VERY talkative lately.  She’s been exercising her vocal chords with all kinds of coos, aahhs, growls, shrieks, babble, gibberish and the like.  I love it.  And guess what…I got a little recording of it this morning.  Take a look-see for yourself….

P.s. Don’t forget that we currently have an active GIVEAWAY.  Take a shot at winning a $25 gift card to Famous Footwear!  Check out the details HERE.  Giveaway ends Friday, August 10th.
