“A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2013.”

week38

This week, my mother is included in Mia’s “portrait.” Grandma and Mia have such a special relationship, Mia really loves her so much. I love that part of Mia’s ethnicity is represented in this photo. We were all at a group birthday party (my mom being one of the birthday girls) in Santa Ana. Another birthday gal was one of my mom’s cousins. My mother is from Mexico which makes me half Mexican and Mia is a quarter Mexican. Grandma and Mia dressed up in their most festive outfits for the occasion. Aren’t they lovely?

  1. Aw what a great picture! I love the Mexican dresses. I’ve been wanting to find one for my little girl who is half Mexican. :)

  2. I love this photograph so much — so bright & beautiful. I cannot get over how much you look like your mama and how much Mia looks like you (and therefore your mama, too)! It is absolutely amazing & all three of you are gorgeous. Just ‘sayin. <3

  3. I didn’t know you we’re a fellow Mexicana! Or maybe I did but forgot along the way? Either way… Cool! Feliz 16!

    • Haha yeah surprise is the common reaction to that fun little fact. Trying to get Grandma to teach Mia Spanish, because she overlooked that major lesson with me when I was a kid. Dangit.
